Today I went on the craziest rollercoaster I've ever been on...and that's actually saying something since I'm somewhat of an adrenaline junkie! The rollercoaster was called 'Eejanaika' and it is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest number of spins. Not sure that explanation does it justice, but Jonah had gone on it before and he flat out refused to go on it ever again so he cheered us on from below.
Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park located near Mt Fuji. It usually takes about 2 hours to get there, but it can take quite a bit longer if you hop on the wrong train...which we did. We rolled through cute mountain towns and saw a lot of beautiful scenery on the way. I didn't have very high hopes for actually seeing Mt Fuji, though, since the weather forecast had called for nothing but craptastic weather all day today. But after some nasty weather rolled right over us, we had pretty clear skies and a comfortable breeze.
On our way home we had to make a quick pit stop in Tachikawa. We stepped outside the train station and I couldn't believe how much it looked like Shibuya, or Asakusa! It's unbelievable how HUGE Tokyo really is! Fussa itself is a relatively small (in comparison) city which is great to keep our home-base at so we don't get overwhelmed when we just want a donut or something, but still close enough that we can jump on a train when we want a little more excitement.
Tomorrow we're heading back to Shibuya and Shinjuku for some more sightseeing and TeamLab Planets!
