Okay, technically I am going to have to start the day before I left because that's when my adventure officially began...
The first leg of my journey included flying from Atlanta to Seattle. And no sooner did I hop into the security line at ATL when I struck up a conversation with the girl next to me and - boom - temporary airport besties. We hung out for a few hours, wished one another well and now we'll never see one another again. Lol
Flying into Seattle is always a treat. I've dropped into countless airports but nothing beats that Mt Rainier view!
I was SUPER happy because I got to meet up with some of my favorite people in the universe during my evening layover. It was amazing to see everyone after 2 1/2 years that I almost cried!
So I had decided to try to pull an all-nighter so that I could sleep on the plane. Well, I almost pulled the first part off but I really didn't get much sleep on the 11+ hour plane ride that I would have liked to have!
The plane ride itself was uneventful and, of course, boring. But that's behind us now! We zipped through Customs, all things considered, and then I finally got to see who I came here to see on the other side of security: Jonah! This time I did cry happy tears...
After taking a couple of trains going in the wrong direction, we finally checked into our hotel in Asakusa at what was 3:50 am EST and we still somehow had a little life left in us so we went hunting for food. Yes, we were overwhelmed by not only the excess of choices but also the money exchange, and we were getting REALLY tired...so we chose...KFC. Don’t be too hard on us, it was cheap and easy and we'll do better tomorrow!
P.S. Japanese toilets are AWESOME
