Day 1: Well, we made it!!! Not without a few hiccups, but we got here to the Abraham Hostel safe and sound and stuffed with falafel.

After a six hour flight we touched down in NYC feeling exhausted and having to give ourselves a little pep talk for the 11 hour flight in front of us. But we persevered and hopped onto the biggest airplane that any of us had ever been on! This airplane had the double decker seats. What it didn't have was wifi, seat air vents, or anywhere to charge our cell phones. Yikes!!! Somehow I managed to catch a few winks but my mom and Joanie pulled an all nighter and are somehow still functioning, but only barely...
Once we arrived in Tel Aviv we were supposed to catch the Abraham Tour shuttle...but after waiting for some time we learned that there was a miscommunication and that our shuttle wasn't scheduled until 3/10. Ugh! So we hopped on a taxi and, after driving way too fast down the center line on way too narrow roads, arrived safely at the Abraham, ready to find food. It was getting late and we stopped at the first place we found that was still open: shwarma and falafel. While there we had an interpreter who proved very useful...only to find out he was from Ohio. Hahaha
